  • 1.  Email Template Image Sizing

    Posted Aug 16, 2022 11:38 AM
I am trying to set up an email template with a header image and a call to action button to renew their membership. The header image is 650 pixels wide, but the email text is running wider than the image, which looks messy. The action button image is 250 pixels wide and looks normal when I'm editing the template, but when I actually send it the image is wider than even the header.

How do I make the text no wider than 650 pixels and keep my 250 pixel image from showing up too large?

    Salut Beth,

I suggest you to create a table and add all the components you need inside the cell you need them to be.

    It's the easiest way.

    Hi Beth,

I would echo putting it into a table, and making sure you scale by percentages instead of fixed pixels if you can.  Keep in mind when the e-mail goes out, it will likely be viewed in a multitude of different platforms i.e. Outlook, Android, IOS, Web browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.  Another thing you want to consider is using a vector based image (i.e. .svg) instead of a .gif or .jpg.  The .svg will likely be the clearest resolution at the greatest number of scaling levels.

    Hi Berth,
I would suggest to use a free HTML editor on the web - if you do not have access to web team in your company. Create a simple HTML table and copy that to your CRM email template.
A very nice way is to get a Mailchimp account (free). Create your email. Go to priview mode and copy the whole email and past into the CRM email template. That should give you a nice template.
Stay with basic font and styles and remember to save the images on a webserver to make them available for everyone outside your company and link the image from there. Using Mailchimps image database would require that you keep that account. Another thing are links. You need to clean up your links in CRM as they will go through Mailchimps database to register clicks and views and so on.

    Good luck
