    Hi experts. Need a little help with making an editable grid. I have created a personal view under "Tasks" that I want to be able to make editable, however, when I go into the Control tab on the Task entity I don't see any personal views available for including (see image). What am I missing? Thank you!

    You are trying to configure a form to use a personal view - you can't do that.  Editable grid requires that the entity/table you intend to use with editable grids has been configured to allow editable grid capabilities.  Once you have done that any views you create, system or personal, that you can select from navigation (but not from advanced find) will appear as an editable grid. The only way you can include a subgrid onto a FORM however is by creating a system view as personal views cannot be entered onto a form.  You can include a personal view in a personal dashboard if that helps accomplish what you are looking for.

    Hi William.  Thank you for your response, however, I have a follow up question... 

    On the MS page attached it specifically says under the "Editable Grid Support" section that "system views and personal views" are supported.  Can you help me understand what I'm missing?

    When building a form with a sub-grid, you can only specify SYSTEM VIEWS, not personal views, and the documentation from MSFT doesn't specifically reference this, but the form builder tools limit you to only seeing system views.

     

    HOWEVER, if in your sub-grid properties you specify to show "Show All Views" when the form renders it will show the "Default View" (which is a system view) first, but you are then given the option on the form to select other views within the sub-grid and it is in this situation that you can have a personal view appear for use.
