  • 1.  Dynamics 365 Tracking button not appearing in Outlook ribbon

    I have a user reporting that the Dyanmics 365 icon is not appearing in his Outlook ribbon. I've confirmed that the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook User security role is turned on and that the Microsoft VBA for Outlook Addin is active. I also ensured the user has the Outlook Reading Pane activated. However, the Dyanamics 365 icon still does not appear in the ribbon.

    Has anyone else run into this scenario and found a way to resolve the issue?

    The VBA App is deprecated and stopped working nearly two years ago (I think).

    In Advanced Settings> Dynamics 365 App for Outlook, is the Eligible User status set to "Added to Outlook"?  Here, you can re-deploy to see if that helps.   As a reference, here's the Troubleshooting Guide

    I had the same issue reported with one of my users. I checked all the settings, and then looked at my own account and find the same problem. The Dynamics 365 Connection button in Outlook is missing completely.  This is using the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook.

    When opening the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook using Outlook desktop or Internet Explorer, icons for buttons such as Track and Set Regarding are missing. The buttons still function but the visual icons are missing. If you open the app in another browser such as Edge or Chrome, the button icons do appear.

    I reviewed both of the articles and followed them to a T. The Dynamics 365 App for Outlook works fine using the browser-based version of Oultook. It is not where to be found using Outlook Desktop (Microsoft® Outlook® for Microsoft 365 MSO (Version 2205 Build 16.0.15225.20172) 64-bit)...

    Check the Optional Connected Experiences setting in Outlook for the user:

    File | Office Account | Account Privacy | Manage Settings
    Enable the 'Turn on optional connected experiences'

    Thanks for jumping in!  Those settings are set as recommended. One thing to note: On by my computer and on the computer of the other user, this was all working like a charm up until about 2 weeks ago. Then nada. Also, emails to and from contacts that were previously set up to be tracked are still showing as being tracked in Dynamics 365.

    Hi Darrin - It might be a stupid question but have you tried pushing the app to your outlook again? Also check to make sure the plugin is enabled.
