    Hi,

is there a way to update 88 and more thousand records of the same entity faster than export in excel, update all records, and inport?
I ask because the inport step doesn't allow file havier than few MB and I would have to split the inport file in too many files.

I use the Microsoft Dynamics 2011 platform.

Thanks a lot for any of your reply.

    Enrico.

    Hello Enrico,
I would recommend to use SSIS and KingswaySoft adapters for it.

An option may be to use a background workflow to do the update (depending on what sort of update that you're talking about).  Create a view that shows all the non-updated records and use the workflow execution tool in XRM Toolbox to execute the workflow against the view.  You can configure batch sizes and pauses between batches.  I'm sure that this works all the way be to 2011 but haven't tested on that generation recently.

    Hi Enrico,

I highly recommend XrmToolBox that Andrew pointed you to. There's another XrmToolBox tool called Bulk Data Updater that might be of use.  The easiest way to use it is to create a view in Dynamics that has the records you want to update, then select the view in Bulk Data Updater and the fields/values you want to update.

XrmToolBox works with CRM 2011, but I haven't used the Bulk Data Updater tool with CRM 2011 for a long time. But it's worth a try!  Be sure to test it out in a non-production instance first.  There's good documentation on the XrmToolBox website, including how to create a connection to your instance: https://www.xrmtoolbox.com/documentation/for-users/connecting-to-an-organization/

    Best regards,
    Andrew.

GREAT TOOL!! I didn't know it. Thanks a million to all of you.

I tried with a small amount of records on DEV and it's very easy and fast.
    Thanks a lot again.

    Regards.
