We are upgrading to version 9, and one of our testers uncovered a known issue with gray shading on the web client forms.  While not a show-stopper, it makes it look like something needs to load.  I found it documented on the Readme / Known Issues page.

The space, however, is white on the create form.  Has anyone found a workaround for this?

    Thanks!

    Hi Kyle,

Can you provide a screenshot for clarity of the form that has the gray space or gray shading?
I recommend you leave it there if you can.

Let's say you really want to get rid of it.
If you mean the Edit view of a form or something like that, you might be able to use some custom JS code and attach it to each Entity form to get rid of the shading.
However, there's no guarantee it'll work, you may have to use code that is technically unsupported (and may break in later upgrade), and you'll have to maintain this code for all the form views.

More info in this article: Dynamics 365 CRM Guide V9.0 Remove Gray Shading

If you're not sure really about what code to use to get rid of the gray shading, let me know in a reply.
In your reply, please also include more details about the form like a screenshot of any form you are seeing the gray shading on, and what Entity and View it is of (e.g. Lead Form, Edit View)
and also please list as many as possible of the types of forms you see this shading on such as Lead, Opportunity, Account, etc.

Thanks Charles!  I included a screenshot of the gray box below.  That article describes the exact issue.  This is not a major concern, so I was hoping to avoid any scripts unless it was a simple override-and could be applied to all forms.  We are using the classic interface now but plan to move to the UUI in the near future.

In fact, after looking at the UUI form again, I wonder if this gray area is appearing because it is the form background color there (second screenshot below).  Seems like a design oversight, but since it does not have a functional impact, I suppose it's not a big deal.

    Hi Kyle,

There may be options for something similar to "a simple override" in some cases. Sometimes hiding the offending web resource causing the problem could be a solution too. This usually only applies to symptoms caused by 3rd party solutions like InsideView though. I don't think hiding a resource will fix the issue you are bringing up here that is documented by Microsoft, that one might not be fixable that way with hiding the resource.

If you want to avoid custom scripts (I actually would avoid them too in this case) then I think your best option might be to leave it alone.

I'd be curious to know if there is a solution to this that somehow avoids any use a custom script.
In my experience, I do not know of one for this case, because there might not be one.

Thanks Charles!  My business partners agree and decided to leave it be.  I appreciate the insight though!
