Dynamics App for Outlook + Team Member License

    Does anyone know if the team member license structure supports the Dynamics App for Outlook? Technically the team member wouldn't be editing the record in CRM but having the app would allow them to track an email to the timeline of a record in CRM. Would this be a supported use case for a team member?

    @Rosemarie Cordell,

    The answer I have received from Microsoft is that it does.

    Hi @Rosemarie Cordell, we have users that have a Team Members licence and are using the App for Outlook.  We're on CRM Online v9x Customer Engagement.

    Thanks, @Mark Aston and @Niels Lønberg! Are your team members able to send emails within a record? If so, is there a specific permission you can point me to in the security role which enables this?

    @Rosemarie Cordell - If you are using the D365 App for Outlook within Outlook, the users would send emails from Outlook like normal. The only extra steps would be to select the record to track the email against.

    Thanks @Aaron Back, MCSE. They are enabled for app use but I was hoping to give these users access to send emails within a case record as well.

    Hi @Rosemarie Cordell, I'd suggest the following permissions although not necessarily at the levels in my screenshot.  The permissions would need to be consistent which your existing security structure.

    Let me know if you require any further details.
