Jason,
We currently run CRM 8.2 on-prem and are moving to D365 9.1 on-prem in a few months. We also have been running hybrid AD (both local and in Azure) for several years. I'm not sure why others are saying that would be a disaster. I would love to hear details on that opinion in hopes that I might learn something new about this configuration moving forward.
With that said, the only affect it has had on me as a developer is that I designed our Employee Intake on CRM 2016 while we were still completely on-prem with our AD. When our engineers changed that (without informing me) all my customizations to automatically create AD users broke. I am currently rewriting that intake system and hope to restore complete automation to the process.
I know that may not help much, but just my perspective. I'm also interested in following the thread to find out more.
Sincerely,
Glen Wolinsky

Subject: D365 on-prem with Azure AD - looking for some insight
Hi all,
We currently have D365 on-prem and our company is changing over to Azure AD and I'm looking for some insight from anyone who has a similar setup. This will be without ADFS on-prem. We've heard from a couple folks this will be a disaster so hopefully someone out there has some better news!
Let me know if any additional information is needed...I'm new to this role so bear with me!
Thanks,
Jason
