CDS Capacity Limit

We noticed recently that our database usage inched over the 100% mark and we added capacity.

This made me curious, are there alerts that could be created to help monitor database, file, and log capacity?

What is the impact on actually going over capacity? We just got a little over 100% but since we were not watching for it we could have easily gone much higher. At what point would it impact operations?

While we will now be adding a weekly monitoring task to our list I'm trying to understand the risk of a sudden spike since we have had a couple occasion where we have see them.

My experience of going over capacity is that operations are not impacted. I've noticed that users who have the system administrator role receive "nagging" emails about the overage.

There was a time when I would get notifications when we were approaching our capacity limit, but those days seem to have passed once the capacity readings were moved from the old Admin Portal to the Power Platform Portal. Since capacity reporting was moved, our file capacity has consistently shown well over 100% because of how things are calculated now. I'm wondering if alerts will trigger again once we move to the new capacity model.

Is there a place to see when a tenant will move to the new capacity model?  I see the notice that it will be as the end of the current contract but we are still using 'month to month' licenses purchased via a CSP.

I was expecting this to be a rule that is enforced with the new model, which is really why I'm trying to get ahead of the risk.
