    Hey everyone, Happy Friday!

Hoping I can gain some insight into how to integrate PowerBI into D365 dashboards.

    - We're on V9 D365 online (as of Q4 2019)
    - We are using PowerBI on-prem
    - We are researching how to, and are finding it's much more complicated and still requires manual updating of the iFrames

Does anyone know if there is a better option and could provide a few resources?

Our alternative option is to provide users a link to 'get results' for example, which would then open up the PowerBI report. PowerBI online didn't pass our privacy check so this isn't an option for us.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi Tamara,

Please have a look at my blog post, where I explain how to add PowerBi dashboard into a Canvas and Model Driven Power App.

Feel free to let me know if you have any questions/concerns.

    Thanks
    Jay

    Hey Jay,
    Thanks for the reply.
This is our problem - we're using PowerBI on prem, so we need to be able to look to our internal server. Which sounds to be pretty painful if not impossible when using iFrames.
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to use on-prem PowerBI in online D365, if it's even possible.

I firmly believe the quote "Nothing is impossible", so yes it should be possible. At this stage I don't have enough knowledge to give any proper steps. Technically thinking, it might be possible with Power Automate. You would have to create a custom connector to you on prem power BI, and then I am not sure if there is a way to grab the link to the dashboard. Maybe worth asking it on the Power Automate or Power BI UG group.

Also, please let me know if you find any solution to that. I am just curious. Maybe if I have time, I will try to setup a Power BI server and try this approach by myself, will let you know if I do that.
