Chat Options for Dynamics CRM 2016 On-premise

    Hi All,

    We are in the process of developing our web store and would like to leverage some sort of Chat feature that will integrate with our Dynamics CRM 2016 environment. If anyone has information of a chat solution used in the past or are considering using for future projects. I`d like to hear from you.

    Again any chat solutions recommendations is helpful. The idea is to route chat requests to a live agent based on the questions asked.

    I had seen a demo of Live Assist from CafeX a couple of years ago. It looked pretty good. However, I'm not sure if it works with 2016 on-premise.

    Thanks Aron,

    I was just looking at some demos / documentation on Live-assist and cant seem to find anything that relates to on-premise. I think i will reach out to them to see if it works with On-premise Deployments.

    Will give an update once confirmed.

    I'd be interested in what you find out too! Not a requirement for us but would be good to have this available for the inevitable request! We are also onprem, 8.2

    Hi All,

    As promised, below is the response I received from Cafex regarding Live Assist and Dynamics On-Premise Deployments.

    Thank you for reaching out about Live Assist for Dynamics 365.

    To answer your question, Live Assist is only integrated with Dynamics 365 Cloud. It does not integrate to on-prem.

    I have been researching chat options for quite a while. We currently use Website Alive, or LiveChat, but there is no integration with MSD.  I recommend PowerChat as well, by Power Objects.  It is built into Dynamics and allows you to create a contact, lead or account from within the chat window.

    I have PowerChat installed in my Dev environment and I must say Its my #1 choice so far. I like the fact that it is managed entirely inside Dynamics and it works on premise.

    I will definitely be requesting a Demo to get stake holders buy in.​ One thing I hope they have an option for Offline mode. Based on what I and agent must be signed in for chat to be available.
