Task Outlook Sync

    Hello,

    I have been able to get tasks, appointments, and contacts to sync with our exchange server. However the reminder it sends is automatically set to the due date. The reminder at that time is helpful but I was wondering is there a way to set when you should get the reminder in outlook from CRM?

    I assume people have done this but I cant seem to find any forum explaining on how to go about this.

    Jonathan,

    Great question.

    I don't think there's a way to modify the default date of notification. It has always defaulted to due date.

    However, maybe this is something that you can automate with a workflow, for example, send a workflow on 1 day before due date or something along those lines.

    Another way to approach this would be to create a view that shows activities with a "due date this week" so users check that view in Dynamics (maybe their Dashboard?) so they can see what's coming that week, and this will promote the usage of Dynamics 365.

    @Gus Gonzalez I have a follow up question on this.  We have turned off syncing (we use the new app, not the add-in) because when items sync from CRM to Outlook, they don't show the link to the record in CRM.  I understand from MSFT that this is something that has not been developed yet - we opened a case with them about 6-9 months ago.  Have you heard when/if this will be addressed?  thanks!     Is anyone aware of whether this might be addressed in the April release? I turned the sync back on for tasks, to see if perhaps it was working, but to no avail.  This task synced from CRM to Outlook, but there are no details about which contact in CRM this task is related to. Also, no link to the contact record (like in the old Outlook add-in).  To me, there is no value in the sync from CRM to Outlook without this info.  Any ideas??
