    I'm currently configuring and testing the App for Outlook.

    Is it possible to disable synchronization of Contacts without disabling synchronization of Appointments and Tasks at the same time?

    Hi Niels, yes you can but I believe you need to do for each user. Logged in as the user, go to the settings (cog icon) > Options > Synchronization tab > select filters to manage what is synchronised to outlook and then select the 'My Outlook Contacts' process and deactivate. Hope this helps!

    @Renee Byrne,

    Thanks for your input. I was hoping it was possible to do on a system level - which it might also be (system filters)?

    Can you post a screenshot of the 'My Outlook Contacts' process?  I'm not sure I'm looking in the right place.

    Hi Niels

    There is a tool in the XRM Tool box that can help with this..

    Sync Filter Manager

    @James Rees,

    Awesome, thanks. That is exactly what I need.

    I had already looked in XrmToolBox but I was looking at the wrong plugin (User Settings Utility).

    That's fantastic @James Rees. Thank you! Very handy to know. We have just started looking at the plug ins in xrmtoolbox so will add this to the list! Niels, I'm gathering you don't need the screen shot now. You were in the right spot but i forgot to mention to select the system filters tab.

    Yes, there's no need for a screenshot now :)

    If it's not possible to set system-wide settings via the user interface, e.g. to disable Contacts sync by default for all users, I think using XrmToolBox is the way for us to go.

    Hey Niels,
    Thanks for asking the question!
    My organization is also concerned about Outlook syncing contacts to D365 and vice versa.
    Did the XRMToolBox work out for you?

    HI @Tamara Sayer

    We use the XrmToolBox tool quite a bit to manage our Sync Filters for users. Works pretty well. I would recommend spending time in a Non-Production environment with the tool first to get use to it and validate the outcome.

    Cheers
    Todd

    Yes, it works great for us. We have disabled everything except task for all of our users which have the mailbox connected to D365/Power Apps.

    I agree with Todd. Spent some time in a non-production environment playing around with the settings to find out what suits you. I had a test user created for this purpose.
