I studied a little bit of the D365 portal in the power-apps-and-d365-developer-associate MS learn web site for a certification 

just looking for if someone knows about it:

What are the economic advantages (in terms of prices & licenses) to use power app portals instead to use/buy other solutions? 

Does someone have successful experiences to describe in this discussion post?

For several organisations we have built custom asp.net connectors to CRM on premise and coded up signifcant portal capability.

As some of the links above explain this requires a start from scratch approach, security being the main consideration.

Recent works involve linking multiple applications together inside an organisation, using B2C for identity management and single-sign-on using JWT approach for authentication which includes Dynamics Portal natively (almost).

Either approach will require a significant investment.

Beware the API throttling (number of requests per user per session per 300 seconds) as this can have an impact during high load scenarios. There is some advantage when using power-Apps portal there as the requests from the portal avoid the throttling algorithm.
