I am currently working on some tweaks to our sandbox environment to prepare for the Unified Client migration and I noticed that I am getting a Read Only notice in the ribbon for an active record.
I have the System Administrator role, so I can't see how I would get this notice. I have access to another Sysadmin login and tried that and it is the same. I checked my other sandbox and production environments and I am getting the same notification. This is not the performance in the Classic Web. I also checked:
    Role assignments in My Apps
There are no field security profiles on the entity

Is there any way to run a trace on how UCI came to this determination that I do not have proper permissions? I believe this is also affecting other ribbon issues that I am having, so it is not limited to the form.

    Audrey,

This is probably due to the Read-only in mobile setting being checked for the Product entity.  Go to Advanced Settings > Customizations > Customize the System, expand Entities, click Product. See if Read-only in mobile is checked. If so, uncheck it, save and publish.

Let us know if this doesn't help.

    Thanks,

@William Waters I am glad it was something so simple! However, isn't the UCI responsive design supposed to recognize that I am not on a mobile device and react accordingly? In an ideal scenario, I would like this entity to be read only on a mobile device (particularly in the D365 app), but I could compromise on this if required.

    Audrey,

I am in total agreement;  I did some digging where someone made one reference to this being a bug, but cannot determine if it was reported to MS.   There are quite a few posts regarding this around the web, so hopefully MS is aware by now.  For now, I think you will need to leave that box unchecked in order to access that entity in an editable state in the Unified Client.

    Thanks,

We had the same issue as well.  I think that the new UI was initially the "mobile" version (kind of) and maybe that is why?
