Running An Advanced Find Regarding Multiple Entities

I am trying to pull Phone Call Activities for Leads, Contacts, and Opportunities associated to specific accounts in our system. I am able to pull the data independently but when I try to run altogether nothing shows up.

For example... I can pull phone call data for accounts with the sales grade = A & B or I can pull phone call data for contacts associated to an account with the sales grade = A & B but I cannot pull them together in the same query.

Does anyone know if running against multiple entities is possible?

Unfortunately not, at least in Advanced Find. As you've got it written there, this query will look for phone calls that are regarding an account AND regarding a contact. Since each phone call can only be regarding one or the other, you get no results.

To get the results you want you need to change the query to use an outer join to the regarding record types. This will give you all phone calls, and the details from the related account or contact if they exist. You can then add a filter to make sure that either the account or contact exist. You can't make this change in the Advanced Find user interface, but you can use FetchXML Builder to edit the query as you need.

If you save the advance find to a view, you can open in FetchXML builder, set the outer joins and save back to the original view as long as you don't change the columns being returned.
