    Hi guys,

We're having an issue on our Cases entity when the user tries to select certain products from a Lookup, we're getting the following error message:

You can't add a product family, a draft product, or a draft bundle. If you contact support, please provide the technical details.

There are 7 items altogether that are creating this error and they are all Product Families as opposed to just Products. It's weird because the Products underneath them in the hierarchy work fine and there aren't any issues with these Products/Families if you try to enter then on the Opportunities form.

The ErrorDetails.txt file (aatached) is really cryptic (at least to a newbie like me!) and I can't find anything on Microsoft that helps. Can anybody help me pinpoint the issue? TIA guys

    James

@James Ryan - Something you may want to check is if all the Products in the Family and/or Bundle have been Published. If any are still in "Draft", then this could cause the message you are seeing.

@James Ryan - In addition, check if any Bundles are in "Draft" as these will need to be Published as well.

    Hey @Aaron Back, MCSE,

We don't have any Bundles at all and I just re-checked whether all the Families had been published and they had. It's strange because there aren't any issues with Products anywhere else in the system.

    Hi James,

Product families are meant for classifying products, with ability to establish an hierarchy between the products.
We can also benefit from the product properties feature in the Product family.

Product families don't have pricing/price list items associated with them directly - which means the design doesn't intend for the user to set a product family to an entity.
However, this is possible with Bundles and individual Products - although they need to published before being used.

    Thanks

    Hi @Sheena Samuel,

Thanks for that. It was a simple solve in the end I just went into the form and changed the Default View on the Product Lookup. Yesterday wasn't a good day for me at all! Thanks again!
