Tracking email to CRM

    When we were in V8.2, we were able to track email messages to a custom entity (kind of a pre-opportunity) and now it does not seem to be working.  Has this functionality been removed in V9.1?

    Hi!  I think I have a solution if I understand the issue correctly.

    Open a solution with the model driven app for outlook

    It looks like this is reset in 9 instances to hold the out of the box entities

    Open this up and remove entities you do not want to show in outlook, and add the custom entities that you want to show.

    There may be additional settings needed (like the entity has to be able to be in the regarding field - but I'm assuming you have this set up since this was existing functionality that you are trying to add back)

    We ran into the same, with our custom entities suddenly disappearing. My guess is that, being a managed solution, when MSFT updated the solution, it dumped our custom entities.  I was able to find this using the app designer, but didn't know you could access these directly via the Customize the System Solution Editor. Much appreciated.

    Ironically, Dynamics did it again, without warning.  Had to go republish the solution to fix it.  Just FYI for anybody else that sees their entities disappear.  Open the solution, verify the layout is as intended (I didn't need to change anything), and republish.

    Glad it was just a republish for you. We actually had to add our entities back in and remove those we didn't want included in tracking!
