Question on Default environments in a tenant.

I am struggling to understand the exact purpose of a Default environment. I understand there needs to be some sort of an environment when a tenant is created, but I cannot seem to find out if it has any kind of purpose other than it's just there.

Can anyone shed some light on what the best use for this is?

    Thanks!
    Emma.

I have found this article rather enlightening to learn about this topic: https://dynamicscitizendeveloper.com/2018/10/17/demystifying-dynamics-365-and-powerapps-environments-part-1/

Thank you for that info, @Sissy Bottcher! I shall give it a read

@Jonas Rapp I had a feeling that it was moreso to accommodate our non Dynamics friends alright, but having spent my entire career in Dynamics, it was a little baffling to me. I suppose that would make sense seeing as default envs aren't in the powerplatform admin portal but are in the powerapps admin portal...

    Hi Emma,
I think the easiest answer is that if you do not come from the Dynamics side and create your D365 orgs as a step of getting started, you should get somewhere to start playing with Flows and Canvas Apps.
And since all of these have to reside in an environment - even if there is no db in the environment - the default one is automatically created.
