I have used Click Dimensions for years and also alternative methods before that. Full disclosure I am a partner, but in a sales and marketing role, so also a heavy user. So in this case I actually practice what I preach :).
I feel that Click Dimensions does have a bit of a learning curve, but once you learn it, it is easy to use. By learning curve I mean it is not an app where you can totally figure it out by just clicking on things. You need a little training to save yourself time and frustration. I have also used Click Dimensions support and can attest it is very good. The switch to the Unified Interface caused some problems and within 24 hours I had a new solution installed that worked. The way Click Dimensions is embedded into CRM is really nice and the analytics are great.
If you are looking for a simpler (and lower cost) option I would recommend looking at something like Constant Contact or MailChimp. In my opinion you really want something to offload the sending of emails, automated managing of unsubscribes, things like that. The process I would use for that would be to simply download my marketing list(s) to Excel and upload them to the email service. I would just download the whole list every time and then upload to Constant Contact/MailChimp/etc. where it would just add the new emails. While not integrated right into CRM you still get the open, read, click statistics which you should really have to evaluate what parts of your email are effective.

Subject: Email Marketing Provider with Dynamics
Hello,
I am working with a company that uses Microsoft Dynamics as their CRM and currently have no email marketing in place (besides sending Outlook emails). They are a small team (~15 employees) with I'm guessing under 3,000 contacts and probably don't have a need/resources for super complex marketing automation. They would like something that integrates with their CRM to create different campaign lists, automate birthday emails, etc. I've surfed the forum but it seems like most people have more extensive needs so I'm not sure where to start. I've come across ClickDimensions, but it seems to have VERY mixed reviews and the support and user friendliness seems to be lacking. There is also Microsoft 365 for Marketing but since it is new, there isn't a lot of info on it that I can find. Other platforms I've come across are Act-On and dotdigital. I should also mention this is for a financial services firm so are concerned about complying with strict regulation and security.
Thank you in advance.
