Any change to Classic UI in 2019 release wave 2?

    Hi all,
We're on Dynamics 365 Online CE.  Has anyone enabled the 2019 release wave 2 update that are still using the Classic interface?  If so, are there any changes to be aware of?  I've enabled the update in one of our sandboxes and on quick glance there are no obvious changes to the Classic interface.

I've reviewed the early access feature list for Sales and Customer Service and there isn't anything that I would expect to have a knock on effect.

Given that my region (GB) will be automatically updated at the end of next week I'm hoping that the update won't affect our users and we can carry on planning for our transition to the Unified Interface.

    Thanks,

    Hi Mark,

We applied the update to our production instance last weekend. Oceanic region is scheduled for 11-13 Oct for Microsoft to apply (we have staff working weekends so wanted to be in control of this).
Prior to this we applied it to all of our sandboxes in turn and did comprehensive testing.

We are still on the Classic UI and have, to date, found no issues/changes with the 2019 Wave 2 update.

    Hope this helps
    Thanks

I think there are a few differences.

I noticed that the header in a form behaves differently. Prior to the wave 2 updates, fields in the header were directly editable, meaning click in the field and you can edit. After wave 2, clicking on a field in the header doesn't do anything, instead click on the down arrow after the last field in the header, then a list of header fields shows where you can edit the value.

Also, the lookup control seems to be a bit different. It seems that after tabbing into a lookup control you have to press enter to get a list of records - unless I'm getting confused.

Thank you @Sharon Fish and @Feridun Kadir for your replies.

Feridun - I've checked the headers and lookups in the sandbox that I've updated but we aren't experiencing the differences that you've mentioned.  I wonder if what you are experiencing on the form headers is related to the high density form headers available in the new UI.  There is an information message when you open the form designer (see below).

Mark, yes it is the high density form headers.

I guess this is switched on by default in a new trial but not on an existing organisation that is upgraded.

Ah okay, thanks for clarifying @Feridun Kadir.  Yes, we're updating an existing organisation.

I've done some regression testing in our sandbox and all the major functions are working as expected so i'll update our other environments.

    Hi all,
I've now completed the 2019 wave 2 update in all our environments.  The only change that I spotted in the classic interface was that the Files tab now appears on the Account, Contact and Lead forms.  This is a new feature that shows the Documents uploaded to SharePoint.  I've hidden it on the classic interface forms as it will be part of our users training for the UI.
