Making an Individual as an Account

    Hey there,

We're currently not utilizing Leads as per the request of one of our C levels. Prior, we had a way through the Leads qualification process to turn an individual into an Account.

In this case, the individual John Smith would become the Account Smith, John upon qualifying the Lead. That Smith, John field was the Company Name field which was automatically populated from filling in the OOB First Name Last Name fields. The process our team wants to roll with now is entering an individual as an Account.

Is there a way to mirror this logic on the Account form as it was on the Lead form, or was that only possible because of the Lead qualification process?

Ideally we'd have a field where the user selects "Individual" as the Account type which triggers the contact to become the new Last Name, First Name account name field, or at least that's the ask. Any ideas?

If you wanted to stay as OOB as possible, i think you could add a field to the Contact "Make Me an Account" radio button, business rule make visible only when company name is blank.  When "Make Me an Account" is updated to Yes, use a flow to create an account with whatever name you want and update the company name on the Contact with the Account.

You would not be able to initiate this process from the "New" Account page.  I'm sure there is a way to add a button and some code on the Account for something like "New From Contact" and it prompts the User to select a Contact and then populates the Account fields.

    Hope this helps,
