1.  Insufficient Permissions for Phone Calls

Hi,

I have created  security role by copying a working role for the purpose of securing users down to their assigned regions. These users only work with accounts, email and phone calls. I used business unit as the permission level for accounts and organizational level for activity. I enabled the new security role for both the accounts and phone form and everything works fine except phone calls.  The role can create a phone call, but cannot view an existing phone call, even when the user created the call.

Is there something additional controlling permission for phone calls?

I have a couple of questions that may help us understand a few things better.

  • Do you have multiple forms?
  • Are the users part of Team? 
  • If so, does the Team have different security permissions than the user's role?
  • Do you have a Sandbox instance where you can test all this prior to putting it into your Production instance?

Hi Aaron,

Yes, I do have multiple Phone Call forms, and I have granted this role permission to the customized phone call form. I did not consider the team assignment, so I granted the team permission the same role, but still continue to get the error. And finally, I do have a sandbox to test in, but I have been using a one test account in production since there is not a full current copy in the sandbox.

What are their permissions to the Activity meta-entity?  They'll need permission to that to see phone calls.
