Has anyone downloaded the April release?  Many UI changes? I reviewed the release notes and didn't really see much of an impact to anything.  Also, this may be a silly question, but if we load the April release to our sandbox, are we unable to move solutions from sandbox to production, until we upgrade production?  thanks for your help!  Laura

You can never be sure about whether the solution file will be able to be imported to production if you upgrade the sandbox first. In past version upgrades we created a copy of production (for $150/month) and upgraded that first so that we could fully test the upgrade process, and it did not interrupt our sandbox development projects.

I enabled it in a sandbox and so far the major change is the side nav in the UCI is now pinnable.
This is a major improvement imo.

I've found that there are no issue with updating or creating unmanaged solutions in the updated sandbox version and importing them into a lower version production instance.
As a one person shop, I find this is a good way to test things (build in the new and push to the old).

Interestingly, I've read that the New Cloud Storage Model for Microsoft Dynamics 365 will not charge for extra instances for new subs from April 1st onwards. Existing subs will have to wait until renewal to take advantage of the new model.

Thanks for sharing that link! I wasn't aware of the storage model changes coming. It seems like they could be a net positive, depending on the pricing for adding additional storage compared to the costs incurred today.

Thanks so much @Donal McCarthy! That is exactly what I was hoping you'd say! :) We have not yet moved to the new UCI, but I hope to do that soon! Has anyone noticed any changes in the old web interface? I am guessing not as I know development is focused on the new UCI.  Thanks for all the replies and for sharing the article about the storage. I heard about the change, but had not yet read the article.  Laura

@Laura Mortick - I have applied the April 2019 update to a test environment I have. So far I have only noticed cosmetic updates in the UCI and small functional updates as mentioned in the other posts.

However, it's worth noting, that the update is a 2-part process. You will apply the April update in the Power Platform Admin Center, and, after it's complete, you will need to update the apps you have (Sales, Service, etc.) depending on your subscription.

You can check out the details here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/preview-april-2019-updates

@Aaron Back, MCSE - what version of the Sales app are you seeing in the Admin center?
I'm not seeing an available update and the installed version is 9.0.1810.5012 - which seems to be the current one (lasat updated nearly a year ago!).
