1.  Issues with going back to Outlook Plugin after enabling Outlook App

Posted 10 days ago
We are using Dynamics 365 online and have a use case where the majority of our CRM users are using the Outlook Plugin to track email, and we have a few MAC users who will be using Outlook App to track email. The set up for the App is complete and everything is working as expected. However, I cannot revert my account back to the Outlook Plugin. I need the ability to switch back and forth to support my customer base.
I was able to disable the Outlook App and remove the App from Outlook, and I was able to run the configuration wizard to reinstall the Outlook Plugin. However, the plugin did not successfully install. I can see the folder for CRM, but I have no tracking options and the CRM options & Sync features are not available in Outlook.
I have run the repair process and I've uninstalled & reinstalled the software for the Outlook plugin with no luck.
Has anyone encountered this issue and found a resolution?

Thank You,

Hi Maria,

You may have tried all of the steps in this document, but I'll pass it along just in case it helps.

Thank you, Brian.
I completed most of these steps earlier with no luck, so I repeated all steps in your outline. But, still no luck.

Are there any errors in your event viewer on the local machine?
Can you turn on tracing on verbose mode and try to see if there is anything in that log?

Just remember to turn it off after you tried 2 or 3 times or your log files will get large.

Hi there,

Wondering if Outlook has disabled the plugin? We see this a fair bit and the user can see that it's installed but nothing is available for them to use. Users then need to:
Click "File"
Click "Options"
Click "Add-Ins"
Ensure the bottom "Manage:" menu is set to COM Add-ins and click "Go"
On the list you should see some for Dynamics CRM. Ensure they are enabled (checked off). If they are not, check them, then "OK" your way out of that...if that was the issue you should see it come 'back to life' within a few seconds.
