Microsoft recently released Microsoft Forms Pro in General Availability as noted here: https://cloudblogs.microsoft.com/dynamics365/bdm/2019/07/01/capture-and-analyze-feedback-with-microsoft-forms-pro-now-generally-available/

However, something to note is this section in the article:

Do you currently use Voice of the Customer (VOC)?

With the release of Forms Pro, Voice of the Customer (VOC) will be deprecated within Dynamics 365. Moving forward, Forms Pro will provide seamless integration for surveys within Microsoft Business Applications, including Dynamics 365 and Office 365.

Existing Dynamics 365 customers with a VOC entitlement will maintain the ability to create and distribute new surveys and collect responses from live surveys for a period of 12-months, ending on July 1, 2020.

Visit the VOC deprecation post to learn more.

For those with Government Community Cloud (GCC) tenants, this announcement brings some anxiety since we don't yet have Forms Pro available. The latest guidance is that Forms Pro likely won't be available until late 2019/early 2020. It's possible GCC tenants will get an extension on VOC availability but it's just a hope at this point.

A good suggestion we received was to leverage a commercial trial tenant to start testing and planning with Forms Pro in order to minimize the time to migrate once it is available. Thought I would pass this along in case others could benefit.

This change is good in bad in two ways. Good because frankly VOC was seriously outdated. It was very bare bones, and surprisingly over complex for a survey tool. I think Forms Pro will be a good addition. I would be curious who else is on VOC and if anybody has seen a migration process for VOC to Forms Pro, mostly in respect to keeping survey data. We have used VOC long enough, so the bad part i'm worried about is losing the VOC data. I have no problem building a fresh survey in Forms Pro, just don't want to lose any data.

From what I have seen, there isn't an import option anywhere in Forms Pro. I suspect the guidance will be to combine the data through Power BI since the survey data will remain in VOC after the deadline. That would seemingly force you to purchase Power BI licensing if you don't already have it (we don't), in order to not lose the historical data for reporting and dashboards.

Yeah we already built a Power BI VOC dashboard. It came out quite well. I figured we might have to do a merge database thing worst case. Not the most ideal thing. But doable. Hopefully Power BI connects to Forms Pro easily.

I just received information from VOC support regarding this. I asked for the partner information if/when their tool becomes available.

"You will need to recreate the survey on Forms Pro and tie the results through powerBI. We are working on publishing a blog article next week to describe this.

On a separate note, we have  a partner who expressed interests to develop a free migration tool from VOC to Forms Pro. They are still working on it and will not be available to test until next month, but let me know if this is something you may be interested and I can connect you with the partner."
