    Hi,

There are 2 files (amd64 and I386) that are available to download to setup Dynamics within Outlook.   I can't find any documentation that describes the instances when either of these 2 files should be used.    Does anyone have more information on this?

I thought it had to do with the type of computer we were installing it on (amd processor vs intel) but that didn't seem to make a difference.

Any input for this newbie would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    Mary –

You would probably get a better response if you posted this in the Open Forum, rather than the Florida regional forum.

That said, if you're using the 32-bit version of Outlook, use the i386 version of the client.  If you have the 64-bit version of Outlook, use amd64.

    Mary -

The amd64 is for a 64-bit machine and i386 is for a 32-bit machine.  If your machine is relatively new, chances are good it is a 64-bit unit.

    Thanks, Bob

It depends on the version of Microsoft Outlook (Office) that you have installed.  If you are running Windows 64-bit but Office 32-bit, you will need to install the i386 (32-bit) Outlook Client.

Thanks Bob.   Does the version of MS Windows or MS Office suite installed on the computer have anything to with it?    I recently had an issue with a Dell 64-bit computer system where I was having an issue with the install using the amd64.   I switched to the I386 and it installed perfectly.    That is why I thought that maybe I was missing something with these files.
