In O365/D365 on line v9.0.... Is there a way to configure access for our Developers or external Consultants that will allow them access to only non-Production environments without consuming a D365 license?

    Thanks in advance,

    Jim

Since the license give access to all environments, we only give them a limited security role in the environment we want to allow them in and then give no security roles for the others - they can't access anything without a role.

    Hi Jim,

You will need to consume either a full license for the developers/contractors access the non-production environments.  If you need to restrict their access to just the Non-production environments though I would take a look at using 0365 security groups to control which environment they can access.

    Cheers
    Todd.

    Jill and Todd,

Thanks for the help.  It seems like there should be an easier way.  Since production is copied to other non production instances it would be nice if i could set the security for production and all other instances at the production instance level then when production is copied the Users get the security assigned for that specific instance.

    Thanks again,
