    Hello everybody
I would like to edit the personal settings of another user. How can I achieve this in CRM 2016? Sorry, probably a nooby question.
Btw: I have tried Xrm Toolbox "User Settings Utility" but apparently not all settings are visible from there, for example Outlook Sync entities.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Heinz,
correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the Outlook setting on the user record in CRM under Security / User. On the Information form you find a tab "Email Configuration" where you can set if the user can sync via Outlook or Exchange. Or are you looking for a different setting?

    @Heinz Arnold

You can use the Sync Filter Manager in XrmToolBox to edit Outlook sync filters for users in bulk.

Here's an example for my user, where I everything except Tasks are disabled.

    Hi Niels
Thanks for replying. This works so far as a workaround, thank you for showing.
Anyway, I'd prefer not to open a 3rd party tool just for checking the values.
Regards and thank you again, highly appreciated.

    Hi Axel
Thank you for replying. We are using CRM 2016 on prem, sorry, I see no such information on the main user form.
    What could be the problem?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Heinz,
I am also on 2016 on prem. Check if you are on a different form. Otherwise create a Advanced find and add the fields Incoming Email Delivery and Outgoing Email Delivery to your view.
I also attache a screen shot, I hope that helps.

    Hi Axel
    Thank you.
Yes, I can see these fields. If possible I would like to see some more fields, in fact all fields in these tabs, see screenshot.

    Thanks.

    Hi Heinz
ah got it. You need to go into CRM as Admin at its best and go to Settings from the CRM menu (not the personal settings). From Settings go to Security and User and open the user record of your choice.

    Hi Axel
Exactly, but my problem is: On that form I don't see the all the information I need. For example, I don't see Language, Time Zone and all the relevant fields for Outlook Sync, see screenshot above. Do you know what I mean?
    Regards

    Heinz

    Guten Morgen,
The time zone and language are user specific where as the email sync settings are system specific. You will need to change the different settings types seperately. I am afraid that user settings can only be handle by each user or as Niels posted with the XRM Tool plugin. We are not using the Outlook connection but had a similar issue with the user settings and ask all new users to change their settings sending an email after we activated them in CRM. The alternative would be a custom plugin, but I am not a fan of plugins and I am not a developer to be able to give any hints on that.

    Hi Axel
Thank you for the clarification. I'm quite new to Dynamics 365, happy to learn such things on the job, asking the right questions to the right people. Thanks for your contribution, great community!
    Kind regards
    Heinz
