On Premise Unified Interface sub grid add new record issue

Has anyone seen this behavior and found a fix?

We upgraded a version 8.2 on premise application to 9.0 and applied cumulative updates.  In classic mode when adding a record to a sub grid we click the + button in the sub grid header and the create form for the related entity appears.  When we do the same in the Unified Interface we click the ellipsis, then click the +Add New Record button and nothing happens.

The only fix we have found is to create a new entity that is a carbon copy of the existing entity.  When we do that and add update the sub grid configuration dialog to point to the new entity everything works fine.  This has worked well for the simple related records, but now we need to do  more complex entities.and this looks to be really time consuming.

If anyone has found a solution to this to save me the time of rebuilding the entity it would be really appreciated!

Tom, May be check if the subgrid entity is enabled in the UCI app. IF THERE is a quick create, enable the quick create form in the Uci app.
Also check if the setting make the entity read only in tablet.phone etc, there is one setting in the entity customization page.

Thanks Balachandar.  The entity is enabled in the Unified Interface App Designer, and all of the other items you suggested are correctly set.  Unfortunately no joy.  All of the entities that are in this situation appear to be a part of a managed solution that has full customization/modification set in Managed properties, so I think it is something buried in the Unified Interface code that is buggering things up.  If I find anything I will let folks know.

    Tom

I went down this same path. After several weeks of back and forth with MS the solution they came up with is as follows. Create a new virgin organization in version 9. Go in and create a solution with the ribbon only in it. Import this into the existing organization.

It will take a while to work. For some reason the Unified interface caches some things and no amount of refresh or application pool recycle seems to speed up the progress.

You should also note that as of right now MS considers unified on premise as beta and is supposed to release an update before finalizing it on premise.

    Hope this helps.
