Sample Data Installed

    Yesterday, I copied the prod customization instead of a full copy to my DEV environment.  then I tried to install the sample data.  I looked an there is not sample data to be found yet the Data Management>Sample Data has it as installed.

    Any thoughts?  is the load sample data no longer functional?

    Check Settings, Data Management, Imports and see if there were errors.  You should see a whole slew of import jobs there.

    I opened a ticket with Microsoft two days ago on this very issue. Our environments show "Sample Data is currently being installed/removed. Only one install/remove operation is allowed at a time." Therefore, I have assumed the imports have started, but no data ever populates. To @Chris Harrington's good recommendation, I don't have import records to check for errors. This lack of records would lead me to believe that the imports didn't begin.

    I'll keep this thread updated with any progress or more likely the poor excuse and dreaded "by design" response.

    When I looked at the process report on the imports it was cancelled.  The error had something to do with background processes being deactivated.  I will also put in a support request with Microsoft. Thanks for your input.
