My organization is upgrading from 8.2 to 9.1 on-premise this year.
Working with the on-premise versions is challenging because almost all information published is about online.
Thanks for sharing this valuable tip, Simon!

Just to note that I have fixed this issue. The answer was to download the SDK for v8.2 and use the PS commands from there.
Still seems crazy, but what can I say!

Subject: User timeout problems On Prem 9.1
I've just completed an On Premise upgrade from 8.2 to 9.1 but now users on the new server are being logged out every hour.
The Systems Settings do not have the options to set time out described here:

| Session Timeout Settings in Dynamics 365 | CRM Support | AhaApps In VA | If you are working on Dynamics platform, you would know that your login session does time out after some time. The customers usually ask if there is a way to tweak that. There have been tremendous improvements made to Dynamics CRM cloud security and one such feature is the addition of new session and inactivity timeouts. | View this on CRM Software Blog | Dynamics 365 > |

And from further reading I see that it is supposed to be possible to enable those system settings using Powerscript using these instructions:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/admin/user-session-management?view=op-9-1
But to do this, you need to download the full SDK for 9.1 and use commands from this to enable the settings. But this SDK is no longer available for download rather elements can be obtained from NuGet!
Classic Catch 22!
Does anyone have any experience of setting user timeouts for V9 On Premise or in enabling the timeout and idle time setting in System Settings?
