For those that are using Microsoft's out-of-the-box contact synchronization, do you know what the limitations are?  I seem to recall several years ago that Microsoft doesn't have the concept of a "shared" contact and so a single contact can only be connected to a single user.  Our business is very relationship driven where a single contact is often shared or connected to multiple users (think LinkedIn Connections).

What limitations have you ran into with Microsoft's out-of-the-box contact synchronization?

Some limitations we've encountered:

• Cannot sync custom fields
• Limited sync OOB configuration in terms of global system sync setting
  • Default setting is to sync only contacts where the owner is the user
  • This is per a user sync preference setting
• Contact sync also means task and appointment will sync if there is no configuration adjustment
