Real Time duplicate detection

    Does anyone use an add-in that enhances the duplicate detection? We are getting ready to allow more people to create accounts in CRM and the native dupe detection rules are not very robust.  We have a great internal fuzzy search tool that we use on our oracle applications and would like to find a tool we can add to Dynamics.  Any ideas?

    It has real-time ​detection and many other options on setup.

    Loosely related, we would be interested to know how one can merge contacts after a duplicate is found, where the duplicate contact/loser has resolved cases associated with it. Currently the only way we can do this is reopen the case, merge the contacts and then resolve the case again, which is not idea.

    Is that the case still?

    I've just done a test on 8.2 On-Premise and both resolved and open cases were linked to the new master record and taken off the subordinate?

    You are right, I just did a test there and was able to merge contacts with resolved cases - excellent!

    Am I right in thinking that we were unable to do this in v8.1? We are on v9 now.

    Hi Laura,

    There are several 3rd party solutions for this. We are using this one:
    https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/web-apps/syncsort.dq4crm?tab=Overview

    It supports world wide realtime and batch cleansing, standardization, address validation, matching and merging.
    Matching is done using several specific fuzzy match routines and executed within Dynamics. Let me know if you need more info.
