Dual Write Entity Maps Solution - Installation fails

    Hi everyone,

I am currently working my way into Dual Write. I was already able to setup the Dual Write - Health check is fine. Creating new mappings and running them is working as well.

Unfortunatly, all the out-of-the-box mappings (apply solution) are missing. After trying to find the problem for quite a while now I am pretty sure I know that is causing this: The Dual-write application orchestration solution fails to install.

    Here are the error details:

    "Dynamics365FinanceAndOperationsAnchor

    GenericManagedPropertyFailure
    The evaluation of the current component(name=Attribute, id=071ce3fa-e555-4186-a75f-928b23ae7afd) in the current operation (Create) failed during managed property evaluation of condition: Managed Property Name: iscomponentcreationenabled; Component Name: Attribute;
    Error code:-2147160026"

Did anyone else had the same problem and found a solution to it?

    Thanks in advance!!

    Isabel

    Hi Isabel,

we were just observing the same issue and raised Microsoft ticket. Here the finding of MS Support:

    [TROUBLESHOOTING]

Noted that Organization has Product Management solution, which contains Entities UOM and UOMSchedule, then it is unable to install solution Dynamics365SupplyChainExtended because this solutions needs to create more attributes in Entities UOM and UOMSchedule and such Entities had property CanCreateAttribute false, generating the error "The evaluation of the current component(name=Attribute, id=a9121cda-2f28-4a08-acfd-828878a04814) in the current operation (Create) failed during managed property evaluation of condition: Managed Property Name: iscomponentcreationenabled; Component Name: Attribute;"

However, I am still wondering how we could find out this reason by ourselves.

    Best Regards
    Torsten

    Hi @Torsten Harden,
were you able to solve the problem yourself or did Microsoft have to do it in the backend? As far as I am concerned I am not able to change anything on the mentioned entities.
    Thanks for your reply!!
    Best Regards,
    Isabel

    Hi @Isabel Krimmel,

this is also my state of knowledge. The OUM entity ist part of the first party solution and there this flag is already set and there is no chance for developers to change this property. Microsoft support made the change for us.

In our first attempts we were working on new, clean environments - there we did not observe any problems with the DW solution. In this case it has been an existing system which is up for about 3 years. I think this is one of the source reason. On other environments there might be also other causes:-)

    Happy debugging:-)

    Best Regards
    Torsten
