We set up our system very open with all users in the same business unit.  We have been able to create reports for "My Office" using this query (we have a custom entity called employee that ties the CRM User ID to the employee ID and the employee record contains the users department, office, division and organization. Within offices, they all have the same departments.

I am trying to create dynamic views for our users within an office (view above) but who belong to one of there departments (the departments are the same for every office).    So, my query would be: show all activities for "my office" in "my department".  I want to avoid creating separate ones for each department if possible.  We have tried it multiple ways but keep getting stuck. Any ideas?  Thank you so much!

Yes, but not in the standard view editor. To create this view you'll need to use FetchXML Builder. In there you can add another link from the owning user to another instance of the systemuser entity, but this time select the department field as being the "from" and "to" join fields. Add a filter on this new instance of systemuser to apply the "Equals Current User" condition to the systemuserid field and you should get the result you want.
