Custom controls in business process flows

    One of the new features in version 9.1 18122 of Common Data Service for Apps is the ability to use custom controls in business process flows.

    Does anyone know where you change the control of the fields used in BPFs? I would imagine it would be via the Process Builder but, as far as I can see, there are no options to do so. Moreover, I can't find anything on the BPFs entity itself.

    I have asked the exact thing in the Flow community and have gotten no feedback yet.

    @Niels Lønberg - The controls for a field are updated through the Form Editor. The screen shot you are showing has the Annual Revenue as an example. On the form editor, select the field, then select Properties. There is a Controls tab. This is where you can add, update, or remove a Control from a field.

    They aren't, though.  I have a custom control on a Yes/No field that uses the toggle for the form, but it ignores that on the BPF attached to the form.

    @Aaron Back, MCSE,

    As @Wayne Walton mentioned that is not the case. And I'm not sure that it will work that way. Which control would it use if the same field is on the form multiple times with different controls?

    I've also looked at the entity for the Business Process Flow itself. You can't make any changes to the fields on the 'Information' form.

    I'd have to confirm, but the custom controls might apply only to the Unified Interface.

    Hey,

    I have not been able to find it either. Chris Huntingford actually mentioned it in a podcast just a few days ago that he too have been looking for it. When it does get released my guess is either the BPF builder as you said or it might be in the new form editor where you today can see the BPF but not make any changes.

    Really looking forward to this feature so I hope we'll see it soon :)

    The release notes for version 9.1 18122 has been changed since I posted - it was updated on March 21. The news about the custom controls in BPFs and the screenshot I included from the release notes have since been removed. Now it's no longer mentioned, that you can use custom controls in BPFs at all.

    @Wayne Walton, @Sara Lagerquist et al.,

    The custom controls in Business Process Flows is now in preview. However, the things you need to get this working will keep me away as you have to mess around with XML files, solutions etc. I was hoping for some more out-of-the-box configuration as we have on forms.
