Outlook "crmLinkState" field for conditional formatting

    Hi all,
We're on D365 Online CE v9x.  We've been using the conditional formatting in Outlook (as described in this article) for quite a while.  This allows users to easily see if they've tracked an email or not (e.g. in their Sent Items).  Last month, this stopped working for a small number of users (myself included).  The only thing I can see is that the crmLinkState field is no longer being populated.  I can still track emails using the App for Outlook.

The strange thing is, I have a test mailbox (in a different tenancy from our Production environment) where the crmLinkState field is still being populated even though I don't have the App for Outlook deployed to the user linked to my test mailbox.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any clues on how to diagnose the issue?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Mark,

We've just recently moved to Exchange Cloud, so we're new to App for Outlook.

i also previously used conditional formatting, but after the migration to the App i found that it automatically put a color for tracked emails/meetings.

But for some users the color is not set, to change this, open a tracked item in Outlook from your browser - office.com and change the color on the categorised color card. its probably called "traced to Dynamics 365"(mine is in Danish). I wasn't able to change it directly in the Outlook program.
