CRM Mobile Error Message

  • 1.  CRM Mobile Error Message

    Hello,

    One of my users receives this error message when they are trying to download the mobile app.  He is logging in with the url and is able to click on "Dynamics 365 Mobile- custom" but then receives this error message.  Has anyone else come across this on the mobile app or know how to fix it?

    Which app is he trying to download? Is the goal to use Outlook on the phone with the App for Outlook integration? If that's the case the user should download Outlook for iOS/Android from Appstore/Playstore and login. If you have deployed the app to the user and he has appropriate rights granted, then the App for Outlook should work automatically within Outlook once the user logs in.

    Thanks for the response, Sissy.  He is trying to log into the actual mobile CRM app, not app for Outlook.  He verified the image below is what he clicked on, and after he clicked on the "Dynamics 365 Mobile- custom" he received the error message about the app for Outlook, which had nothing to do with what he was working on.


    He was able to log in as normal a week ago.  As far as I know, this is the only user affected.

    @Jennifer Havir - Check if the user has the "Dynamics 365 App for Outlook User" security role assigned. Also, keep in mind, the D365 Mobile App uses the Unified Interface. Are your users using this within the browser as well? Just curious as this can cause user adoption issues when they see 2 different interfaces. ​

    @Aaron Back, MCSE  - He does have that security role marked.  The interface for our browsers is still the classic interface.  Our mobile app is the unified interface.  We will be transitioning our browers to the unified interface next spring.  He is the only one who is experiencing this issue.  He has removed it and reinstalled it multiple times with the same error message.  ​

    Is there anything else you can think of?  It seems like MFST has rolled out some changes to the mobile app within the last couple of months, but you would think it would be affecting all of my users.

    We have had three with iPhone and one with iPad that have had issues, all the Android users are having no issue.  We have been able to resolve the iPhone issues but are still experiencing an issue with the iPad user.
