Is there a way I can enable a Business rule or something else to show that if an account = a specific account to change the currency from USD to CAD on a form?
There is one account that we need to show CAD and the rest can be in USD. I already set up my quote form to pull in currency etc but now I need to change it for 1 client only.
I'm not sure how to do it. I have a Price and a total price fields(8 of each total) to reflect prices entered as USD. Do I have to add to the formula on the calculated fields or do as Business Rule?

Hi @Heather Laughlin, I believe you'll have to create a new Price List with CAD as the Currency.  We only use the Pound Sterling currency but we have 2 business rules, one on our Opportunity form and another on our Invoice form.  Price List is a hidden field on both forms and the business rules set the default Price List which picks up the Pounds Sterling currency.

Using calculated fields might complicated things so i'd stick with business rules.  How many Products is this 1 client likely to need in the new Price List (assuming you are happy to use this method)?

thank you @Mark Aston !  So below is what my current form looks like- which I might have to start over if management wants me to go with  Quote Product table instead (however I was under the impression I couldn't replicate the below going that route) . Would I create the business Rule on the quote form and state if account = xyz to use CAD currency? this would only be for 1 account. I have calculated fields for the total cost fields so I wasnt sure how to do this.

Hi @Heather Laughlin, apologies for the slow reply.  I haven't used Quotes before but i'll assume they are similar to Invoices.  I've looked in our vanilla environment and the Quote form has the Price List and Currency fields on it and both are mandatory.  Are both these fields hidden on your Quote form?

Reading the following articles would suggest that you'd have to create a new Price List and associate the CAD currency.

As for setting up the business rule, you wouldn't want the Operator to be Equals as the GUID of the customer won't be the same in each environment so you'd have to manually update this in each environment every time you bring the business rule through the release process.  A better option would be to use Contains as the Operator but this would only work if the customer name was unique.

It's worth thinking about if this is likely to be a requirement for any other customers in the future.  If it is, you could create a new option set field on the Quote form (e.g. Non-Standard Currency) which contains a list of other currencies which you could use as the trigger for the Quote business rule.  You'd could then have a workflow that sets the Non-Standard Currency for Quotes created for certain customers.

Let me know what you think or if you've been able to achieve what you want a different way.
