Issue with deep linking not resolving as hyperlink in workflow emails

  • 1.  Issue with deep linking not resolving as hyperlink in workflow emails

We are trying to update our workflows which send emails so that the links to the related record (previously inserted regular Dynamic URLs to do this) will now have deep links which I understand should prompt the user, on their mobile device, to choose which program/app to open with (their browser, their Dynamics mobile app, etc.).  So far, I can't get the resulting "link" to resolve as a hyperlink.  Here's what I've done and what we're seeing.  I'd welcome any help on what I may be doing wrong or what I should try next -

    • I downloaded the managed solution Dynamics 365 Workflow Tools with the Deep Linking capability and installed the solution.
    • Using the associated directions on GitHub and appropriate input/output parameters, I created a test workflow to fire on create of an account
    • I confirmed on create of a new Account, the workflow fired and generated an email in CRM with a "link" present however it does not appear to be a hyperlink and when I paste into my web browser, it doesn't resolve either.  It just looks like a text string.
    • I've tried multiple environments and a few entities and still the same result....always just a string of text.

    Hi Cherish,

I was recently tasked with the same request from my sales team.  I only did some cursory development work, so this isn't a fully qualified answer, but what I noticed is that my deep link only worked if I stripped HTML tags off of it.  If I used the full generated link without modifying it, it looked ugly in the email body, but it would open up in the Dynamics app correctly.  If I tried to wrap it so the link was better formatted it stopped working.  Haven't had time to dig in more than that - but hope it helps.
