    Hello -

    I have a user assigning out Tasks from cases she is working on. She is looking for a way to get some sort of notification when they are updated.

    For this, I knew there was an Automatic Post rule for when a task is updated from a case. I haven't really looked into it much, however.

    So, I tried multiple different scenarios, and could not seem to get it to work. I created a Task on a case, placed it in a queue, had another user make an update to it. However, there was no automatic post created anywhere. Not on the case record or the main Social Pane on a dashboard.

    • The rule is enabled.
    • I followed the Account, Case, Task, everything.
    Am I misreading what the mean by "Task updated for a case"? I figured it meant there would be an auto-post created when an update is made? if that is what is supposed to happen, maybe someone on my side changed something causing it to not work?

    I could not find a lot of information on this exact rule, so any help would be wonderful!

    I am not sure whey you are not getting those notifications that you should. However I just came across a third party add on which gives pop-up alerts once you configure. See the link:

    Just got back to this issue.

    Thanks, but an add-on might not be the best for me now.

    It looks like it only adds a post when you do something like complete the Task, not just update the text within.

    Anyone else ever try this, or know if something is missing here?

    I was also of the opinion that it would show all the update notifications. But if that does not work, you could try configuring a single workflow that sends out a notification (email) for any update on that task. If I am not wrong, the workflow engine should give you an ability to create a post too.
