Custom controls for entity views in Unified Interface

    I would like to use the Read Only Grid (the non-standard) as the default control for entity views in Unified Interface, as this control includes the filtering option for columns. So I have set this on entity level for Opportunities.

    However, the entity views are not displayed by default using this control. The user has to go and select 'Show as' and select the correct Read Only Grid from the list...

    Does anyone know if this is by design in Unified Interface? I really don't want to use the default Read-Only Grid and it is pain that the users have to change it each time they want to filter a view.

    I'm just bumping this topic as I'm now also having issues showing the read-only grid containing the filters in Dashboards as well. I've tried changing the control on the dashboard component and as well the control on the view itself - but it's not working.

    If I change the control to an editable grid in the dashboard, the filters appear.

    Are anyone else experiencing this?

    Hey Neils,

    I had issues similar when working with the calendar control. For me, I placed the custom control on the entity level, rather than the view level and then published customisations in classic mode to make it work. Publishing in the powerapps solution did not work for me for some reason. It does look like you may have to remove one of the read only controls and publish the changes to make it default.

    Curious to see what others have done here.

    @Emma D'Arcy,

    Thanks for the input. I'll try to remove all controls, publish and the start from scratch.

    I'm just wondering if there might be a bug here.

    I just spun up a new trial, to see how views are displayed by default with the changes coming in Wave to in October.

    It looks like filters will be on by using the default Read-only Grid for the entity (which also makes sense):

    However, they are not on by default in sub-grids:

    So I'll just wait and see if time will fix the issue for me.
