Hi MelissaNot sure how it works in newer versions. But in 2016 you have to use the original template before you uploaded it. If you don't have it anymore, no worries, you can use "Document Template Manager" from XrmToolBox. Very nice tool, use it to download the existing template, change the template and upload it again.

Hi MelissaYou need to edit the base document first (outside of CRM) then upload it.I keep a Master version in my system admin file of each template doc, then make changes to this copy and save it as the next versionGot to CRM\Settings\Templates\Document Templates find the "old" template and deactivate it, then upload the new one.
