@Darcie Forster - Just out of curiosity, are the child activities not rolling up to the account currently? Because they should by default. However, it will not roll up the activities of grandchildren records to the grandparent account. It's on the Parent/Child activities that are rolled up. For example, if you have 5 contacts on account "ABC Company", and each of the Contacts have 1 activity, then you should see 5 activities on the "ABC Company".
Also, you may want to look at the Social Pane settings to ensure it's showing all activities. There are options to show only certain activity types under the Social Pane settings in the Form Editor.
Lastly, have you tested in Advanced Find a way to show only the Marketing activities?
Are the marketing users part of a team or business unit? If so, you could isolate activities created by users that are in a specific team or business unit. Then you could create a View for this that is displayed on the Account form as a subgrid.

Subject: Filter Activities on Account Form by Department
Our marketing users are requesting to see just marketing activities as the default when they view the Account form. They aren't able to easily find their latest marketing activities because they are often listed beneath multiple Client Call Center activities and fall out of view. We currently use the Social Pane on the Account form for viewing activities. Has anyone else had a request from their users to be able to see just activities from their department as the default view on the Account form? We are looking for a solution that will still roll-up activities from related entities (e.g. Contact, Opportunity) to the Account. Has anyone else identified a solution for this? We are using Dynamics 365 On-premises (version 8.2)
