We have run across a problem that seems to be a browser issue rather than a D365 issue. I'm posting these details to see if anyone else has run across this issue.

A few days/weeks ago, we started to notice that on some people's systems, the menu buttons at the top of the screen in D365 (on-prem) was not rendering correctly.  In some cases, dropdown buttons did not display the child buttons at all.  After some investigation, I discovered that on my Edge browser version 87.0.664.75 everything displays correctly (figure 1).  Beginning sometime after that it went awry.  The first version where I noticed the issue was 88.0.705.50 (figure 2).

The same issues are happening in Chrome, so this may be a Chromium issue that would logically now extend into the latest Edge versions.  Please let me know if you've seen this and, more importantly, if you know a solution or work-around.

    Thanks,
    Glen

    Hi Glen,

We started noticing this in Chrome earlier this week and hasn't caused any issues for us yet, but maybe because users may not all have updated to the latest version of Chrome yet.

No solution or workaround yet, but keeping an eye on it. We're on V9.0xxx on prem if that helps.

It looks like a CSS issue.
I had an issue on our company website, with Chrome and Edge 88, that I fixed by adding the below property to the CSS for images that were appearing incorrectly.
It won't fix the issue, but if you know how to use browser developer tools to try CSS changes, apply the below to the offending row.

    aspect-ratio: auto;

    Glen,

Do you have any custom controls or similar that could be manipulating the CSS? We have seen this before and that was the issue.

    Regards

    Matt

Our buttons are rendering differently too in Chrome and Edge. They still look normal in IE and Firefox.

Love it when web browser updates make CRM go wonky :-(

Nice to know we aren't the only ones!

    Hi Glen,

We have the same issue in our environments as well. We are on cloud and using Chrome as a preferred browser. I didn't have time yet to look into it and will also appreciate if somebody will share their experience.

    Thanks,

Just use the latest Edge Browser for now. Some updates went out via Chrome that may cause some issues. I am sure they will resolve it soon.
