Workflows not processing

  • 1.  Workflows not processing

One of our admins recently left our organization and some workflows that were created and assigned to him no longer work because his license has been removed. I am not able to go in and change the workflows because he is the owner. Any suggestions on how to fix?

    Lisa,

From the workflow view, as a system admin, can't you use the "assign" button to change ownership?

    Lisa,

I would also check the workflows and confirm that the emails are not being sent out from this account also.

    Thanks,

A couple of things to keep in mind when changing the owner of workflows. When you assign the workflow to another owner, the workflow will go to "draft" status. You will need to reactivate it.

Also, I would suggest you assign your critical business workflows to a Service Account. You can set up a Service Account without consuming a license. These are called "non-interactive" accounts. Reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-engagement/admin/create-users-assign-online-security-roles#create-a-non-interactive-user-account

If you are on version 9 of Dynamics 365, you should see a new "Business Applications Platform Service Account" user in your list. Be sure the service account has the appropriate Security Roles, and then you can assign the workflows to this service account or set up a new one.

By using a service account, you can avoid your current issue in the future.

    Lisa,

Did the feedback you got resolve the issue, or are you still stuck?  I am hoping you are back up and running.
