Working with changing financial years in Dynamics

We have just been purchased by a larger company, and our financial year is going to be amended to fit in with theirs.
We currently run 1st July to 30th June, and they use calendar years.
As a result, at the end of this financial year we will have a 6 month stub year, followed by subsequent years running Jan 1st to Dec 31st.

Can anyone help me understand how we can handle this in Dynamics CRM? I have not been able to find any way to accurately represent this, with my main concern being that the Advanced Find date fields options will be misleading & invalid.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In Settings -> Business Administration, you can change your Fiscal Year settings. Be aware, since CE/CRM is not a financial system, it's just going to change the fiscal year, it's not going to account for previous fiscal years or any other changes.  But everything that lines up to fiscal year, like Goal tracking, or advanced find filters, will then use the updated fiscal year.  You're likely going to have to manually manage any discrepancies.

Count yourself lucky that you can change the fiscal settings :)

In the "old" days of CRM, fiscal settings was a one-time setting only.
