Split Revenue

    We've recently implemented Goals in our environment and are having trouble coming up with a way to split revenue in an Opportunity and have it show up appropriately in the end user's goals.

    If anyone has come up with a good method to implement split revenue I would appreciate your ideas.

    Are you saying you have more than one person who is on an opportunity and you need to be able to split the revenue?

    If so, there are a few things you could do.

    1. Make child opportunities to each individual to track their revenue and exclude parent opps (maybe make a custom flag) from goal tracking.
    2. Make a few money fields called "Split 1" through "Split N" based on how many splits you need.  Them make a dropdown of split types to calculate how they should be split (or, you know, manually enter the split).  The goal rollup might be a bit tricky, though.

    Thanks @Wayne Walton.

    Yes, we sometimes have an Opportunity ​that will need to be split. The split could be 50/50, or 75/25, or one of many other possibilities. Unfortunately the parent Opp is tied to an external pricing tool that our Sales dept. uses so we couldn't exclude it. I do like the idea of the child Opps, as least for the revenue split.
