All Activities view won't let me filter on Account Name (Regarding)

I used the All Activities view and added a column "Account Name (Regarding)" from the Record Type = Account.  I can use the filter option, but it won't find any of my records.  I'm even using the * instead of the whole name thinking that it has to be an exact match, but that is not working either.  Anyone know why it won't filter using the Search or Filter Equals options?

What I am trying to do is provide a dashboard for my Sales Team that will show them all Activities based on an Account or Contact.  I am also displaying Open Cases, Contacts, etc.  Basically a 360 view of what is going on with their Account.  I know they can go into each Account record and go to Related to find these, but they've asked for a Dashboard.  This is the only one I can't figure out.  We are going to be putting this into a Power BI Dashboard once we get data integrated form our ERP, so this is just a short term tool for them.

Can you use the "Regarding" field directly from Activities? Why do you need to pull from the Account record?

There are some limitations to querying related data. But for your dashboard, you could create your Advanced Find using the related account name. Although I'm not sure you want to create a separate view for each account they are tracking.

    Good luck!
