I am new to crm online and have to modify a custom report. From onprem I know how to download the report file and how to handle a .rdl file.

Now I am on a online instance and want to download a custom report to manage it in visual studio with the BIDS extension, but all I get is a .xml file. When I run a report and look at the URL of the report I can see the parameter "name.rdl". Is there anyone who knows why I get a xml file instead of the good old rdl file and what I can do about it?

    For the records:
The report was initially imported by external consultants and I have nothing but the report in CRM.
We are on version 1710 (9.1.0.10535) online

Which browser are you using? have you tried to rename the file extension to .RDL?

    Hi Nelson,
thank you - I got the rdl file in the Edge. I knew the download bug in onprem with the '' around the file name when downloading Excel but did not experience the bug on the rdl files before. Thanks again and have a nice day.
